Reed tops ratings in loss
I have never been a big Collins fan and got really tired of hearing people suggest he should start at point guard instead of Russell. He was a spark off the bench because he came in when the other players from both teams were tired and his style of play gave him an advantage until the other team had some time to adjust. His defense and his conditioning were suspect, but there were plenty of players to help him out. In a way this is a learning year for him to. It is different to always be the guy in charge, to have to play the whole game, and to not have veteran players to back you up.
I thougt the haircut was ugly and Bill needs to tell him to get rid of it.

The Keegan Ratings: The legend of Mario
Mario called the "pass" from Sherron a fumble. He said at the press conference after the game that Sherron fumbled the ball but Mario managed to save it and get the shot off. I think Mario probably had the ringside seat on that one.

Keegan: Victory completes transition
Saturday I had just said UNC must not have scouted us very good because Collins is the most easily trapped player on the team--and damn--next possession they started trapping him. To beat the trap you have to be willing to let someone else have the ball. At this point Collins isn't. Thank goodness Self pulled him and spanked him and other than one selfish pull-up jumper he played much better and let one of the other guards handle the trap. He has great potential, but is still just a sophomore. He needs to just catch the ball and drive. Let more experienced guards worry about the logistics of getting down the court when there is a trap.
Go Jayhawks!! Number 1!!!

Williams, Heels loom
The Tarheels will finally have to leave North Carolina. I glanced at their schedule and two games in Las Vegas and a game at Columbus, Ohio was about far as they ever ventured from ACC land. Will the culture shock of Texas affect them? Be sure and eat lots of Tex-Mex before Saturday's game Tarheels.

Chalmers gets last laugh
Robinson would have had some great assists in the first half if Jackson, Arthur or Rush had been hitting. One of those games where it was tough to be the assist guy. Self was right. There were two players of the game. Mario in the first half and Sasha in the second. Still if any of the first seven had not been able to play yesterday, we probably would have lost the game. It was a team effort, especially on defense.

Commentary: Handicapping the Final Four
Agreed. The Tarheels will finally have to leave North Carolina. Have they even ventured west of the Mississippi this year? I just checked. They played two games in Las Vegas early and after that their further venture west apperars to be Columbus, Ohio.

Chalmers gets last laugh
Mario was great, but I would have put Sasha first. Sasha was a huge factor in both games. Thought Sasha, Authur and Collins all had big shots toward the end, but Collins took a shot too soon in a later possession then almost cost us the game with his turnover. Defense and not getting rattled by bad refs were the keys to the win. KU finally wore Davidson down. Something tough to do with all the TV timeouts. The teams are in timeout more than they play.

Fieldhouse to open for fans to welcome Jayhawks
I hope the refs lost mucho money in Vegas. I say the refs in college basketball are making the sport appear as honest as the WWE. The Jayhawks showed them though! Go Jayhawks!

Next up: UNC - KU downs Davidson, returns to Final Four a 59-57 winner
Heard Sasha made the all-tournament team. Who would have guessed? Haven't heard any other names.

Woodling: Roy still popular topic
Roy who? I'm a senior at KU and Bill Self is the head basketball coach. The only reason Williams is different from any of the other former coaches is because the old people and journalists won't let him go. Get counseling. Learn to let go.
