More Issues For Us (Recruiting Violations?)

Look who can't get enough press. Tyshawn Taylor. Speculation out of Lawrence today states that we have ourselves another f@ck up, to say it lightly.

On September 13th, Markieff Morris, forward for the #1 Jayhawks, had a little fender bender on 17th and Tennessee (only three blocks away from the school's bars, but that's beside the point). According to the police report, Markieff was driving former Kansas forward, and Lawrence resident, Scott Pollard's Tahoe.

Let that soak in a bit.

And he had a 16 year old in the car after midnight.

SOAK IT IN!

We all know this is most likely another violation of NCAA policies, and it couldn't come at a worse time as KU was only days away from getting off of probation on the 11th of this month. It looks ugly, especially with the happenings of the past few weeks.

Luckily for all KU fans, there is some sort of reasoning for why Scott Pollard's car was harboring Morris. This is where Tyshawn Taylor gets involved. After this story was released, there was a statement from KU reporting that Taylor had actually been recently sold the car by Pollard. It's sketchy, but completely legal under NCAA rules. From starting brawls and breaking pinkies to saving the day. That's what Tyshawn does, and eerily similar to the way he performs on the court.

Although all of this may not have any new sanctions on the school, it just adds to the list of ever increasing thug life in rural Kansas. KANSAS? THUGS? YES!

First I want sources on this supposed transaction. Second how does this incident make Tyshawn a thug. Third I think you are full of crap. Fourth I also belive you are from Missouri. Fifth maybe K State but I don't think there is anybody there that cares enough to do something like this. Sixth um, again this is total crap.

This guy is a KU fan. He just posts blogs that are typically obscene, immature, poorly written, and hardly funny. He usually provides a link to his 'official' blog... which isn't much better.

This story is a non-issue if I have ever seen one. The only reason it's in the media is because of the junk that happened the last 2 weeks. Morris was sober and other than just being a bad driver, it sounds as if he committed no crime. Not sure it's fair to comment so insinuatingly on the fact that there was a 16-year-old female in the car... Pretty low and trashy blogging if you ask me. Then again, that's what I have come to expect from this guy.

Satire anybody? Also written as a story based on this, http://www.810whb.com/article/1782 , before things had been panned out, and still sketchy for the fact that it was still under Scott Pollard's name even if it was sold to Tyshawn Taylor. So yeah, if you don't find it funny, fine, but it is legit news, and making fun of yourself (in this case my own team) is one way to lower the potential blow from frustrating, and seeming less avoidable issues. Take it or leave it.

"Making fun of yourself?" For you, that should be pretty easy. But you did none of that--at least I hope you don't think you were being funny. By your own admission you made judgemental statements before you had any facts. You called Tyshawn names when he wasn't even involved in the accident, Suggested lechery because of a 16 year old girl (Morris isn't all that much older) being in the car. Suggested alcohol (or at least "bars") was involved. Claim it is a violation of NCAA policy. Before you ever again venture into satire, you should probably spend some of your time investigating what satire is. Take it or leave it? Only one worthwhile choice there.

This is typical and we need to get used to it. There will be many more trolls and well wishers. KU has a huge target on it's back. All student athletes need to understand when your football and b-ball programs are ranked in the top 25 of the nation, you're under the scope of the entire sports nation.

The TT and BM incidents are sobering reminders that we have a bigger image to protect and they will in a first class way too.

What is a thug?

orbiter (anonymous) says...

A thug is:

a black person who gets in a jealous fight over a girl

a black person who gets in a fender bender

a black person who has not yet registered his automobile.

When a white person does these things they are understandable mistakes you can relate to, because you know "these things happen" especially when you are a young college kid away from home. When a black person does them they are evidence of thuggery, loose morals and urban hip hop culture.

Someday we will ban all that music that glorifies this stuff. I'm so sick of hearing all those rap lyrics glorifying being a jealous weenie about an ex-girlfriend, getting into minor traffic accidents and not registering your 10+ year old car immediately. It's no wonder our county treasurers don't get the respect they deserve in this day and age.

If you write a blog - just don't make it sound like an article from the National Enquirer.
